CAFE MANAGER

We are looking for a proactive and upbeat cafe manager to organise our Warren Conservatory at the weekend. Starting hours 7.30am – 3.30pm Saturday and Sunday. This may become negotiable in the future, should the role develop.

Job Description

Key skills and experience required:

  • A minimum of 2 years hospitality experience
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate other weekend staff
  • Barista trained
  • Experience with EPOS tills an advantage but not a necessity

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure customer satisfaction and a high level of service
  • Day-to-day operations of the café
  • Prepping and serving food
  • Managing weekend staff
  • Staff training and coaching where necessary to keep standards high, including drinks preparation and proper use of coffee equipment
  • Ensure all café areas are clean and tidy and that all food hygiene standards are being upheld
  • Handle customer feedback appropriately and professionally. Effectively passing this on to management with ideas for improvement.

DUTY MANAGER

We are looking for a dynamic person to help our dedicated team grow to expand and develop our relationship with our members and guests.

You will support and assist the General Manager or the Deputy/Assistant in managing all aspects of this busy Sports and Social Club. Ensure that the facilities and service are of the highest standard for our members, guests and other clients / visitors.  Responsible for staff management and training. 

From time to time the job description will be reviewed and amended to reflect changes in demand.

Main Relationships

To develop and sustain positive working relationships with the members, clients and staff.

Main Duties

  • Responsible for overseeing the venue’s services in the absence of the General Manager or the Deputy.
  • Where appropriate, assist in overseeing staff training and recruitment and keep appropriate records whilst developing the processes used.
  • To assist in the development, management and motivation of staff at all levels.
  • To ensure that all staff are appropriately dressed as laid down by The Club rules and its required dress standards.
  • To assist with operational resourcing in workforce planning and employee development.
  • Where appropriate, assist in the management of contracts and manage renewal terms of suppliers.
  • To take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the bar.
  • Have a full knowledge and understanding of Cellar management.
  • To ensure that sufficient stocks are available for sale and displayed to their best advantage to obtain the greatest level of sales and profitability.
  • To comply with all licensing law regulations in the service of alcoholic beverages, hot drinks and meals at the stated and permitted times.
  • To ensure that all members, visitors and guests are welcomed in a professional and consistent manner.
  • To complete a visual inspection of all areas prior to opening correcting any deficiencies where possible or reporting to the line manager any defects that need attention.
  • To regularly conduct pipe cleaning and cellar maintenance in accordance with the supplier’s guidelines
  • To assist in the initiation and implementation of systems, operational policies and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency across all operations.
  • To act as an ambassador for the Club in actively promoting its services through the appropriate channels and platforms and upholding the Clubs values and ethos.
  • To assist in the development, review and maintenance of policies associated with managing risk, including health and safety, security and environment.
  • Help and advise in the completion of risk assessments and review procedures.

Hours

Full time including evenings and weekends, 4 day on 2 day off rota.

Salary

From £25,000, depending upon experience
